Park responded by rolling in a five-foot birdie at the next and posting a two-putt par at the last to see out victory, with Olsen grabbing second after Yu Liu finished her final-round 73 with three consecutive bogeys. She had a 54-hole total of 15-under 204.

Park began Sunday as the woman to catch and it remained that way throughout as she opened up a lead as large as seven shots in the early stages of her back nine.

The seven-time Major champion took a 3-stroke lead into the final day at the Royal Adelaide Golf Club over South Korean teen Ayean Cho and despite a late wobble was never seriously threatened.

American Jillian Hollis (69) was in third place, one stroke behind. The moment I came here and saw this golf course I fell in love with it.

"I've been working with him for 14 years", Park said.

She led going into the final round of last week's Vic Open in Australia but shot a 9-over 81 to fall into a tie for 16th.

Back-to-back birdies at the 3rd and 4th holes saw her move under par for the day before she dropped a further shot at the 9th although by this point, with a five shot lead, the outcome looked to be nearly a certainty. "It has been a while since I played in Australia, it's been eight years since I played here so I'm really happy to be back here playing in front of Australian fans and to hold the trophy is even more special". "The last three days have been quite consistent in putting". That will be the next tournament stop on the 2020 tour - in Phoenix from March 19-22 - following the cancellation of tournaments in Thailand (where Park won in 2013), in Singapore (where Park won the HSBC Women's Champions in 2015 and 2017) and in China.

The Bank of Hope Founders Cup, which Park won in 2018, is therefore the next LPGA tournament she can enter as she bids to make perhaps the hardest Olympic team to qualify for in the sport. The World Health Organization has named the illness COVID-19, referring to its origin late previous year and the coronavirus that causes it.
