The World Cup-winning Australian captain was married to Kyly in the year 2012.

"After living apart for some time, we have made the hard decision to separate as a couple, amicably", the statement read.

In a joint statement issued on Wednesday, the two said, "After being separated for a few days, we have taken a hard decision to stay apart as a couple".

The two have split on a Dollars 40 million divorce settlement, according to media reports.

According to reports, it's believed Clarke moved out of the family home in Sydney's eastern suburbs five months ago. The two have a four-year-old girl named Kelsey Lee.

The couple, who met while at Westfields Sports High School in Fairfield in the 1990s, continue to train together at the same Rose Bay gym and Clarke picks up his daughter for preschool.

Michael Clarke shared a heartfelt message for his daughter just days before announcing his split from wife, Kyly Clarke.
