A report about the Detroit Lions, who hold the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, has surfaced that suggests the team is interested in trading its longtime starting quarterback Matthew Stafford.

"100% False!" Quinn texted to the Detroit Free Press in response to the rumors, via Dave Birkett.

Citing unnamed sources, the team has been trying to trade Stafford for a couple of weeks.

Quinn's defiant refutation of rumors that have originated in Miami and recently popped up on a Detroit TV outlet.

According to Quinn, Stafford isn't going anywhere.

Additionally, the 32-year-old Stafford was playing some of the best football of his career before missing the second half of the 2019 season due to a back injury.

Detroit pick third in the National Football League draft but it's unlikely head coach Matt Patricia, who was spared his job but publicly put on notice by ownership, would push for a developmental-type player at that spot.

Stafford's wife, Kelly, posted two photos to her Instagram story saying that if Detroit does trade Matthew,"I could stay in Cali".

Stafford has been Detroit's starter since being drafted with the No. 1 overall pick in 2009.
