Lewis Capaldi has responded to a tweet which criticised his decision to bring a bottle of Buckfast on stage as he collected his BRIT award on Tuesday evening.

On January 11, 2020, Pulse revealed that the Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy was nominated for Best International Male artist at the BRIT Awards 2020 alongside Americans, Bruce Springsteen, Dermot Kennedy, Tyler The Creator and Post Malone.

And he didn't get any more serious when it came to accepting his awards.

Though the TV ratings for the BRIT Awards 2020 may have dipped slightly year-on-year, the ceremony - which was widely lauded - is showing strong signs of impact in the streaming world for the artists involved.

Over on the YouTube stream, where they aren't restricted by Ofcom's pre-watershed guidelines, viewers heard Capaldi's acceptance speech, where he simply said: "Thank you very f**king much". Tom Jones, who presented his the award, looked at the bottle with impressive disdain.

Lewis" shoutout to ex Paige Turley, who is now starring in Love Island, also sent fans into a frenzy as he explained in his speech who "Someone You Loved' is really about.

He continued: "It's actually about my grandmother who, sadly, sadly, sadly passed away a few years ago". And Lizzo is definitely giving her fans a real treat with her award show style!

He went on to say he's had the best year of his life, and thanked everyone who has contributed to his success.
