Andre Iguodala trade talk: Ja Morant, Grizzlies' young core irked at veteran

Andre Iguodala has attracted some criticism from his own Memphis Grizzlies team-mates over reports he is hoping to force a move at the trade deadline and Steph Curry has now waded in on the drama. Iguodala, who was traded to Memphis during the off-season, has not played one second for the Grizz this season and that's just the way Brooks and Morant like it.

After he was traded to the Grizzlies, Iguodala and the team came to an agreement that he wouldn't play with it while it sought a trading partner. "I feel like he's doing the right thing for his career, but we don't really care".

The situation has current Grizzlies players pissed, with Dillon Brooks saying "I can't wait 'til we find a way to trade him so we can play him and show him really what Memphis is about".

Brooks' team-mates Ja Morant and De'Anthony Melton seemingly backed his remarks when they were posted on Twitter.

Memphis is reportedly holding firm in its trade demands for Iguodala, who is ready to sit out the rest of the season if a deal isn't made this week, according to The Athletic. Ja Morant seemed to agree, as he tweeted a speaking emoji on top of the quote.

Iguodala, 36, spent the previous five seasons competing for National Basketball Association titles with the Warriors.

The 36-year-old has a career average of 12.1 points per game and is the victor of the 2015 NBA Finals MVP Award.

The Grizzlies, 25-25 after Monday's win over the Pistons, are still in control of the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
