"Gaga needs to see this and we need to find this woman because whew she can SING", wrote Twitter user Anthony, a Lady Gaga mega-fan who first shared the clip.

Social media entertainer Kevin Freshwater unwittingly "discovered" Charlotte Awbery, after she delivered an impromptu but impressive rendition of Lady Gaga's Oscar-winning Shallow from A Star is Born.

Kevin Freshwater, a British content creator who films prank videos, posted a video of himself on Facebook asking strangers to finish the lyrics to various hit songs.

In the video, Freshwater kicks off the song and starts singing, "Tell me something girl, are you happy in this modern world?". And, that's where he came across Charlotte, who was making her way to a train in the subway. Then, the woman gave an astounding performance and belted the hard chorus - without a warm-up.

The woman was later identified as singer Charlotte Awbery. Upon posting the video of her challenge, people online were proclaiming that "a star was born".

Footage of her performance quickly went viral, racking up close to 18 million views on Twitter and almost 9 million on Facebook alone. On Twitter, it has garnered a staggering 24 million views.

Awbery's cover of the song has gained so much traction, it catapulted the original "A Star is Born" soundtrack song back into the top 40 iTunes music charts. "I'm grateful that I have a platform to be able to showcase her fantastic talent to the world".
