"I walked around and as I started to explore further, there's nobody there", he told the PA news agency.

Someone else recalled: "Haha same thing happened to me at a movie theatre back in 99".

Dan Hill wrote on Facebook that the staff in Sandy, Utah, had locked up the gym while he was in the pool swimming laps.

Hill told "the guy": "I'm in 24 Hour Fitness, and there's an alarm system here and I don't want to get busted for breaking and entering".

He said: "First of all the person answering the phone said "you're where?' and I said "I'm at the 24 Hour Fitness".

It's 24 Hour Fitness", said Dan Hill, who was locked in the gym by himself Sunday morning". Doesn't the name suggest that they stay open 24 hours?

"I called my wife, she said find a comfortable place to sleep".

"The music was still blaring and that's why I thought there's gotta be someone still here", Hill said. Dan definitely had fun during his time locked up (in the gym) and he said it reminded him of 'Home Alone'. "Like oh my gosh". He posted the picture below after he was free from 24 Hour Fitness.

A man in Utah managed to get himself locked inside a gym - ironically called 24 Hour Fitness - after employees supposedly "closed the doors and went home". In doing so, we have been helping members locate to nearby clubs that are open during the overnight hours.

"We have obviously not worked well on our club closing procedures on Saturday night and will strengthen our club procedures so that this incident does not occur again in the future", the company said in a statement.

On Tuesday (at 3:00 am), Hill posted this photo with the caption, "So I've felt bad about any poor publicity I may have caused".
