Tom Brady bids farewell to Super Bowl nemesis Eli Manning

Brady would now have eight championship rings and one ideal 19-0 season if it were not for some of Manning's heroics, so it's great to see Brady acknowledge that on Eli's big day.

"This sport has very few real farewells", Manning said from the Giants' practice facility on Friday. A job with the Giants is a possibility, he said. I couldn't be someone other than who I am. "I see how competitive he is and we joke around a little bit, but I think it's not real amusing to him.", Manning said, and smirked. Undoubtedly I would've made the fans, the media and even the front office more comfortable if I was a more rah-rah guy.

"I choose to leave this game with only positive memories - why harp on the not-so-proud moments?" he added later on in the speech, concluding with: "For most of my life people have called me easy, believe me there is nothing easy about today". "What they got was pure unadulterated Eli".

"But that's not me", Manning said. He will also be made a part of the Giants' ring of honor.

Manning had a string of 222 consecutive starts between the end of his rookie year into late into the 2017 season.

Manning led the Giants to wins in Super Bol XLII and XLVI over Brady's Patriots. He did have a final hurrah, starting and winning a game over the Dolphins after Jones was hurt in December.

Over a four-year span, it seemed that the New England Patriots dynasty, led by Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, had a kryptonite - the New York Giants.

"That was my farewell and a moment I will cherish forever", said Manning.
