However, Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson, who was called up for the home series against the Lions, misses out on the plane.

India is set to tour the island nation for five T20Is, three ODIs and two Test matches starting with the first T20I match to be played in Auckland on January 24.

Virat Kohli (captain), Rohit Sharma (vice captain), KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (week), Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Manish Pandey, Shivam Dube, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini, Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami.

Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami have returned for the five-match series starting on January 24. He is eyeing the World T20 that will be played at the end of the year in Australia. Meanwhile, there were no major changes in the squad with most of the players picking themselves.

"There are no surprises in the Indian T20 squad with Rohit as usual coming back in place of Sanju, who is already in New Zealand with the A-team. All the other players picked themselves", a senior BCCI authoritative aware of selection issues told PTI from the problem of privacy. Basin Reserve in Wellington will host the first of the two-Test series which gets underway on February 21. Pandya was earlier included in India A's tour of New Zealand for three List A games. He was, however, pulled out on Saturday after he failed the fitness test in Mumbai.

"Hardik Pandya boarded the flight to New Zealand for a team without a ranji match". If we pass by news reports, their instructor has stated that we now have work difficulties with relation to their bowling. A BCCI release said that Hardik Pandya's rehabilitation process is taking "longer than expected".
