Prior to that, we all knew Chris Evans would be bidding adieu to Captain America.

Spoilers ahead for Avengers: Endgame. But what if we tell you, there's a possibility to come back?

Iron Man's death in Avengers: Endgame wasn't a huge surprise to many given Robert Downey Jr.'s ten Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances.

Do you think Robert Downey Jr. will ever return as Iron Man or Tony Stark in the future?

"Anything could happen, I'm really enjoying..." However, he later added, "As far as I'm concerned, I've hung up my guns and I'm good to let it go". The 54-year-old superstar said, "Yeah, anything could happen". It's hard to project.

Downey Jr. fills in as guest host on Tuesday's "Ellen DeGeneres Show", with him bringing out his "Dolittle" co-star Malek.

"Tom Holland is in "Dolittle" because of Robert", the film's director Stephen Gaghan said about the reason behind the duo's reunion.

Malek and Downey co-star in the new movie Dolittle, which is primarily based on the Hugh Lofting book The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle. Downey is also expected to star in a third film in the Sherlock Holmes series, which began in 2009.

The official synopsis says: "After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle (Downey), famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria's England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company. Everything that you've done has not only been something that we as actors look up to and admire, but you have taken so many of us under your wing and I am so appreciative".
