Panthers tab LSU’s Brady as offensive coordinator

A person familiar with the situation says the Carolina Panthers have agreed to terms on a contract to make LSU passing game coordinator Joe Brady their new offensive coordinator.

It was back when Brady could go out in public in Louisiana without being hounded, back when he was just a 29-year-old unknown passing game coordinator. This year, Burrow managed an astounding 5,671 yards, 60 touchdowns, and six picks. Brady called LSU's offense alongside offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger and won the Broyles Award, given to college football's top assistant, for his efforts.

One day last spring, Joe Brady swung by Superior Grill on Highland Road for a quick Mexican food dinner with his good buddy and fellow LSU staffer DJ Mangas. He was previously an offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints in 2017 and 2018. When the Panthers announced they were hiring Matt Rhule to be their next head coach, the thought was that he would poach Lions quarterbacks coach Sean Ryan to be his OC. That reportedly included an out-clause if the National Football League came calling, as there was speculation Panthers' first-year head coach Matt Rhule was interested in Brady.
