The backlash was sparked by hunting images which surfaced online, which allegedly showed him posing beside animals that had been killed.

The petition, which you can view here, targets ITV/Love Island and is titled "Remove Ollie Williams from Winter Love Island for Trophy Hunting", and at the time of writing has nearly 36,000 signatures with a goal of reaching 50,000.

I have to be honest with myself, and everyone, that I do still love someone else... I have to follow my heart in this scenario and that would be wrong for me to ignore these feelings.

"The disgusting photos were posted on an Instagram account that was deleted before it was announced that Ollie would be one of the contestants joining the winter series of Love Island in South Africa".

The reality star, 23, who is heir to the Lanhydrock estate in Cornwall, walked out of the show after realising he is still in love with his ex-girlfriend.

After the pictures emerged, a petition was set up to get him removed from the show - which gained over 11,000 signatures.

A listing on Companies House shows Williams to be the director of Cornish Sporting Agency Ltd, a business specialising in "hunting, trapping and related service activities".

On the subject of whether he knew about Paige's entry to the villa, Lewis said: "She never told me she was going on it".

"So, he did kind of say to me that me and you [Paige] are the people he's interested in in here".

Paige Turley, pictured with Sophie Piper, told her fellow Islanders about her famous dating past.

Ollie defiantly responded: "I've said to everyone I don't fancy anyone else in the villa", before Paige exploded: 'Well that's a lie because you told her the opposite!'

The episode will also feature the fall out after newcomer twins Jess and Eve coupled up with Mike and Callum.

The two sat after a dramatic feedback around the fireplace, which ended in a double date between twins and their new husbands.

Love Island continues on ITV2 at 9pm.
