Kate Middleton steps out without her engagement ring

According to Hello! magazine, Middleton purposely left the rings at home out of respect for the venue.

Duchess Kate, 38, joined a workshop run by the National Portrait Gallery's Hospital Programme, for her seventh official engagement in just over a week.

When she stepped out of her Jaguar electric vehicle, there was one glaringly obvious difference about the Duchess - she had ditched her iconic engagement ring.

The royal mom of three wore a bespoke Dolce & Gabbana skirt suit, which she paired with black tights and her go-to Gianvito Rossi pumps. Kate did, in fact, wear her simple gold wedding band to the workshop.

While she definitely wasn't lacking a scattering of diamonds, fans quickly noticed her engagement ring, which used to belong to Princess Diana, was missing and the Duchess' eternity ring.

The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in the sweetest tweed suit by Dolce & Gabbana this morning. Since she was visiting a children's ward, it's common courtesy to remove any potential hygiene hazards, including large rings.

Kate Middleton headed out to Stockwell Gardens Nursery & Pre-School (part of London's Early Years Foundation) for some quality time with children and staff to launch questions commemorating her Five Big Questions survey.

Kate's stunning engagement ring often comes off during hospital visits, dating back to the year she and Prince William tied the knot.

The 12-carat sapphire ring, which is surrounded by a halo of diamonds, was resized to fit on Kate's finger.
