"Wall Street has actually come full circle, and they realize that Delta is the most awarded airline in the world because of its employees". This comes after the carrier posted an excellent year financially. And, yes, that 2019 bonus amount IS a record for the company, which is based in Atlanta.

It has also been the sixth consecutive year that Delta has paid more than $ 1 billion to employees. Each eligible employee will receive a February check for 16.6% of their annual salary.

Full-time and part-time employees, regardless of whether they are unionized, will receive the extra pay in addition to other benefits such as a 401 (k) match. This is a record amount for the carrier.

Delta employees will have more than a billion dollars to keep them warm on Valentine's Day.

This is not the first time Delta, which was ranked the No. 1 airline in the United States by the Wall Street Journal, has given its employees a big bonus.

Delta employee payout is good business, said Joseph Blasi, director of the Institute for Employee Share Ownership and Profit Sharing Studies at Rutgers University.

According to a 2018 survey conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago, 38% of adult US employees said they received a cash profit sharing scheme, but the average amount reported was only $ 2,000 or 5% of earnings.

And now that Delta uses MSP as one of their major hubs, they're sure not forgetting about their employees here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

Delta's CEO said, "Delta would be nothing without our 90,000 people".

One reason for the airline's success, CNN said, is because it does not use the Boeing 737 Max in its fleet - in fact, it is the only major airline in the United States that does not fly the planes, which were grounded in March of a year ago after two separate crashes that killed 346 people. They're the best, and they've kept our culture alive and thriving through every challenge we've faced.

Bastian, 62, was named CEO of Delta in 2016. Despite this, Delta and its employees have a good relationship. The pilot didn't inform the control tower, however, that it would need to dump fuel to lighten the load and so the flight was not redirected to a safe location. The profit distribution plan began in 2012 after the merger of Delta with the Northwest.
