Wolfgang Van Halen Ends Billie Eilish Twitter Debate

Due to being young and famous, Billie has become the new poster child for "those damn kids" for many rockers, even as she sings Green Day's praises on television and pays homage to death metal with her merch.

She does. Then he asks, "Can you name a Van Halen?". Billie was on a recent edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live and Jimmy pointed out the age disparity between them, saying he was Billie's age in 1984. While she appeared to know who Madonna was, she was completely lost when Jimmy Kimmel brought up the Panama band, who have been in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame since 2007.

That's the debate Twitter has been locked in on Monday - almost a week after the Grammy nominee made it clear she has never heard of your dad's favorite hard rock band. But people were quick to come to Billie's defence, questioning how a 17-year-old is meant to know of a band who hasn't produced any significant music in her lifetime.

If that didn't put the debate to rest, one of Van Halen's members took to Twitter to exonerate the possibly uneducated pop star. She simply responds, "Who?"

Some began to criticise Billie for not having knowledge of a band as big as Van Halen, regardless of her age.

To which Kimmel jokingly replied, "I'm going to start crying".

Wolfgang Van Halen has diffused a heated Internet argument involving an unlikely musical pairing: the bassist's own band, Van Halen, and chart-topping pop star Billie Eilish.

"Billie Eilish doesn't know who Van Halen is". Van Halen were a band who were on top of the world when they first emerged, but who made crotch-thrusting party rock more than anything else. Van Halen are not on her radar. "Listen to what you want and don't shame others for not knowing what you like".
