RiTS will provide protection from heat and physical protection from radiation and objects that are hurling through space.

The first guests at the hotel will be two robots called Robotic External Leak Locators (RELL - because acronyms). Once outside the station, those detectors now need to wait 12 hours in space to clear itself of water vapor and other gases from inside the station.

"Its thermal system maintains ideal temperatures for the instruments, helping them stay functional". The company has since been awarded a second contract to resupply the space station through 2024.

The hotel, RiTS will be attached to the outside of the ISS to create and save storage on the inside.

Deploying detection robots usually takes much longer when the tool is not externally stored. The robots have been previously used and stored inside the ISS, but since space inside the ship is the most optimal spot for storing, its better for work-flow and ease of storing to have them outside the station.

Once outside the station, RELL now needs to wait 12 hours in space before it can be used.

During Wednesday's mission, the Dragon capsule will separate from the rocket nine minutes after liftoff, according to SpaceX, which projects that it will attach to the space station on December 7. It depends on the availability of mission controllers on the ground and station crew.

This vast network has thousands of feet of tubing and hundreds of joints. Also, it will help the space station's robotic arm, Dextre, easily locate, grab and put back those robotic tools.

Boeing has delayed its first test flight of its Starliner crew capsule to the International Space Station.
