A now-grown-up Elliott, played by actor Henry Thomas, and the adorable alien both star in a heartwarming TV ad released on Thursday in line with the U.S. holiday Thanksgiving.

This year, Sky is reuniting the beloved character of E.T. with Elliott's 2019 family.

Of course, E.T. also takes Elliott's children for a ride across the face of the moon on flying bicycles and says a heartfelt goodbye to his friends as he returns home to his own family.

As the short goes on, E.T. gets the chance to experience all kinds of new and exciting 2019 adventures, such as the Internet, virtual reality goggles and Reese's Pieces cupcakes!

Almost 40 years after leaving Earth, E.T.is back-and still scaring the poop out of small children.

In the video, Elliott's kids find E.T. wandering the backyard of the house where their dad grew up and now lives.

The director famously resisted allowing E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial to be released on home entertainment formats.

Inside, Elliott notices the lights and is concerned about what's going on. This time, although, he is left one thing behind: his holographic communicator, which he managed to slide into the boy's shirt pocket.

We don't want to spoil the ending, but it is certainly emotional. In a press originate, Thomas outlined why he used to be on board with the mini-sequel. "It's really a win-win", said Thomas in a statement about the new ad. "I could see exactly why Steven (Spielberg) was really behind it, because the integrity of the story isn't lost in this retelling".

ET is back in a blockbuster Sky Christmas ad, made by Sky Creative Agency (SCA) and new owner Comcast's United States agency Goodby Silverstein. "They care about the way it connects them to other people".
