Billy Magnussen is scheduled to reprise his role as the amiable, goofy Prince Anders in the new film.

The spin-off will centre on Billy Magnussen's character Prince Anders, who was one of Princess Jasmine's suitors in the 2019 film. In addition, Jordan Dunn and Michael Kvamme have also boarded the project to pen the script. The film will stream on Disney.

Magnussen has been on the rise lately with appearances in the acclaimed 2015 historical drama Bridge of Spies and biographical dramedy The Big Short, 2017's well-received indie dramedy Ingrid Goes West and what's seen as his breakout performance in last year's dark comedy Game Night.

The spin-off will be centered around Prince Anders, who was added to the cast for the live-action remake, the outlet reported.

As mentioned above, the Aladdin live action remake came out to some mixed reception, catching some of the producers off guard.

"I didn't like Aladdin remake". He must be getting all these offers.' It's none of those things.

After Aladdin raked in over $1 billion at the box office, it's understandable that Disney wants to cash in more on the idea. "So it's not always what you think". Social media has been up in arms about the inability of Massoud, a person of color, to get an audition while a white male character who was not part of the original story gets a spinoff show.

Equally though, there are supporters of the new series, as fans are excited to earn more about the entertaining character, Prince Anders.

Disney is planned "Aladdin " spin-off has received criticism from fans following the claims of the movie star Mena Massoud that "he hasn't had a single audition" since the movie was released.
