The Love Island host was taken into police custody at her London home in the early hours of Thursday morning, a home she shares with tennis player Lewis Burton.

She was arrested in Islington, north London, after an incident at approximately 5.25am on Thursday after reports of a man being assaulted.

The TV host has been released on bail and is due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Corner on December 23.

The man, who is believed to be Lewis, was treated by paramedics but is said to have not been seriously injured.

A spokesman for Flack addressed the news in the following statement to the BBC: "We confirm that police attended Caroline's home following a private domestic incident. We will not be making any further comment for legal reasons".

When reached by People magazine for comment, a spokesperson for the television star confirmed the arrest to the outlet.

She has become well-known for hosting shows including I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here Now's spin off show, as well as The Xtra Factor.

She won the 12th season of the British competition series Strictly Come Dancing in 2014.

In 2018, Flack called off her engagement to The Apprentice contestant Andrew Brady.
