Ariana Grandes heartwarming Thanksgiving spent with parents after 18 years

For Father's Day in 2017, she shared a rare throwback snap of the duo, writing, "Happy Father's Day I love you".

The holiday was made even more special for the singer as it was the first time that she has spent it with both of her parents since 2001, when she was only eight years old.

She told Seventeen magazine, "It's private ... it took me so long to be okay with it".

The three are all smiles in the family photo, which she sweetly captioned "First Thanksgiving with both of my parents in 18 years!" Another clip showed Ariana, with facepaint, interact with her father while he wore a fuzzy hat.

In 2016, the man tweeted a selfie of him and Ariana.

That same year, Ariana referenced him in her hit track "thank u, next".

She sings: "One day I'll walk down the aisle holding hands with my mama/I'll be thanking my dad, 'cause she learned from the drama".
