Apple Mini-LED iPad, MacBook Pro may arrive in 2020

Apple has been rumored to be making the switch from OLED to mini-LED display panels for a little while now.

Specifically, Kuo claims that Apple will release four products with the new display technology, including a brand new 12.9-inch iPad Pro and a revamped 16-inch MacBook Pro.

That iPad Pro will be followed by an updated 16-inch MacBook Pro using a Mini-LED display as well.

Apple did not immediately respond to Business Insider's request for comment.

Apple's line of laptops and tablets use LED-backlit displays rather than OLED screens.

Mr Kuo told MacRumours the screens will "significantly improve productivity and the entertainment experience". The MacBook Pro should debut a couple months later in Q4 (October to December).

DigiTimes has suggested that several vendors, including Samsung and Apple, will bundle their new smartphones with truly wireless stereo earbuds in 2020 to offer users more value and increase the competitiveness of their smartphones in an increasingly crowded market.
