The Cosmopolitan Sues Sharks Forward Evander Kane For 500K

A Las Vegas casino is looking for payback, literally, from Evander Kane almost seven months after the forward and his San Jose Sharks teammates eliminated Vegas in a first-round Stanley Cup playoff series.

San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane likely doesn't have too many fans in Las Vegas thanks to the Sharks-Golden Knights rivalry, but he also isn't particularly beloved by one of the city's casinos at the moment.

The court documents state that Kane, who is a Canadian citizen, took out eight credits of varying amounts between $20,000 and $100,000 on or about April 15.

In addition to seeking repayment of the $500,000, the Cosmopolitan also wants their legal fees associated with the incident covered.

Neither the Sharks nor Kane have responded to the report. The Cosmopolitan declined to comment on pending litigation, citing company policy.

$500K is certainly nothing to scoff at but it's not like Kane is strapped for cash - he is now in the second year of a 7-year, $49 million deal.

The on-going feud between the two players has made Kane a persona non grata in Las Vegas hockey circles.

San Jose Sharks left wing Evander Kane (9) celebrates his goal against the Ottawa Senators during first-period NHL hockey game action in Ottawa, Sunday, Oct. 27, 2019. The two teams played each other again in the season opener, with that Kane would miss the game because he had been suspended for the first three regular season games.
