The New York Giants are probably going to have a new centre against the Jets and they also may be making a change at right tackle. It's their first six-game skid since 2014. Herndon, expected to be a key part of the offense, made his season debut and had one catch for 7 yards.

This would mark the first time this season the Giants (2-7) have had a different starting lineup on the line.

Sam Ficken's 53-yard field goal late in the third quarter cut the Jets' deficit to three.

Head coach Pat Shurmur of the New York Giants looks on in the second half against the Jacksonville Jaguars at MetLife Stadium on September 9, 2018 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The fact that the Jets (2-7) beat an equally bad team doesn't make everything right - heavens knows, they still did plenty of Jets-ian things - but they showed some character after blowing a 14-0 lead, then rallying from a 27-21 deficit.

For all his mistakes, rookie quarterback Daniel Jones is the future.

Jones will also be without at least two weapons.

The Jets (1-7) and Giants (2-7) haven't played each other while being this low at the same time since September 22, 1996, when the Giants edged the Jets, 13-6. "So is he going to root for the Jets?" Against the Jets on Sunday, he had just one rushing yard on 13 attempts and five receptions for 30 yards, and that's not even touching his pass protection.

The concussion sustained in October was Shepard's second of the season. That ended a streak of four straight games in which he was picked off, with nine INTs coming in that span.

Saquon Barkley is sure his father will root for the Giants, but he thinks his parent will wear green.
