This is not the first gender reveal stunt gone wrong recently that made news.

According to The New York Times, a preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board filed this week states that a gender reveal in Turkey, Texas may have caused a plane crash.

The NTSB's report indicated that the September 7 crash occurred after the crop duster-style plane dumped 350 gallons of pink-dyed water as part of the fanfare. One person sustained a minor injury.

A plane has stalled and crashed in the middle of a gender reveal in West Texas.

The pilot reportedly told officials that they were maneuvering at a low altitude when the plane "got too slow", causing it to aerodynamically stall before crashing.

The plane, which flipped over when it hit the ground, suffered substantial damage to the fuselage, right wing and empennage.

There were two people on the plane, which was designed for one person.

"The pilot reported that there were no preimpact mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation", the accident report said.

Gender reveal parties for expecting parents have grown in popularity but mishaps can be deadly.
