After the OnePlus 7 Pro (Review) launch, the discussion around 90 Hz display became quite mainstream. It also revealed that all its future devices will have such screens.

Last month, we got a look at renders of the OnePlus 8 Pro that suggested the phone will ditch the pop-up selfie camera for a hole-punch setup. In that tweet, he did not mention any specific device, which led to people wondering if it was the Samsung Galaxy S11 that was going to sport a 120Hz refresh rate display. Notably, Asus has already launched ROG Phone II in the market with 120Hz display and it is the first smartphone which is offering 120Hz display.

Reports also claim that Apple is also gearing up to feature a 120Hz refresh rate display on its next year flagship smartphone.

Along with the OxygenOS 10.0.5 update for the OnePlus 7T, the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro have also started receiving Open Bets 5 upgrades for the users who enrolled in the beta program.

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 7T Pro just a few weeks ago, so in that sense the OnePlus 8 series renders seem to have appeared way too early. This refresh rate will be the highest for smartphones. The main camera module is positioned vertically like on the OnePlus 8.

The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are expected to arrive in April or May.

In an earlier tip-off, Max J hadclaimedthat OnePlus would announce its upcoming flagship smartphones, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, sometime in the second quarter of 2020. The picture that Lau has shared on Twitter confirms that the leak which rolled over the internet in September was a true one but still there are not enough details available regarding the upcoming smartphone OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition. Gone are the days when phone displays could only refresh at a 60Hz rate or lower.

According to rumors, the OnePlus 8 Pro is said to be powered by Qualcomm's upcoming flagship chipset the Snapdragon 865.
