Manchester United have been linked with retired Croatian global Mario Mandzukic for quite some time and the latest reports are intriguing.

The Turin-based newspaper La Stampa claims that Paratici will finalize a deal for Mandzukic as Manchester United look to sign the striker for a reported transfer fee of £13million in January.

According to Mirror, Fabio Paratici - the Sporting Director of Juventus - has flown to the United Kingdom, for transfer talks with Manchester United chiefs at the club's headquarters in London.

Indeed, the 89-time Croatia worldwide has failed to make a single appearance for Juventus this season.

However, Everton need to join Spurs and West Ham in monitoring the veteran as they continue to lack a centre-forward that can finally replace the loss of Romelu Lukaku - ironically what Manchester United are looking to do with Mandzukic.

Sky Sports News is reporting that the Red Devils have retained an interest in the 33-year-old ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Moreover, he was part of the Bayern Munich squad that lifted the Champions League trophy back in 2013.

Mandzukic scored 10 goals in 33 appearances to help Juve win the title last season and he'd give Solskjaer something different up front if United were able to get a deal in place to land him in the January window.

"They are trying to position themselves alongside clubs with massive global appeal and huge budgets like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United".
