While the show gained popularity steadily during the first two seasons, the show's ratings have reportedly declined in recent years.

ABC's Karey Burje added, "We couldn't be prouder of this game-changing show and the impact it has had on our cultural landscape". It signs off as the longest-running sitcom about an Asian-American family in broadcast history. Nahnatchka Khan and her good modern crew have designed an unforgettable collection with an Asian-American relations entrance and centre, a bit of one thing that hadn't been completed in two a very long time.

'The cast, led by Randall Park and Constance Wu, is one of the finest and funniest on television. We'll move up the Huang family and are eternally grateful for the extremely heartfelt tales they've instructed these earlier six seasons.

There's a chance that Constance Wu will be secretly excited about the news.

In August, the "Hustlers" star admitted to being "dramatic" and "emotional" with the rant. "Like B.I.G. said, 'And if you don't know, now you know'". I'm emotional. But they also know that that doesn't represent me because they have a hundred episodes of behavior that proves otherwise'. "Ugh", she said in a tweet, followed by expletives.

Starring Constance Wu and Typically Be My It's doable star Randall Park, Contemporary Off the Boat premiered on ABC in 2015.

New characters set to be introduced in a November episode of the show would be the foundation of the new series, but nothing in guaranteed. At the time of writing, six episodes of Season 6 have aired, so fans do have more than half the season left before the final credits roll. Though the show now has a cast, it has not shot a pilot. The comedy is based on the memoir of the same name by Eddie Huang.

"I love FOTB", Wu - who portrays Jessica Huang - wrote. Forrest Wheeler and Ian Chen play Eddie's brothers, and Lucille Soong stars as his grandmother.

The Crazy Rich Asians actress hit headlines in May when she took to Twitter to express she was "so upset" about the show being renewed by ABC network bosses for another season, later clarifying she was heartbroken she had to axe another job in order to fulfill her contract work for the sitcom.
