Sen. Bernie Sanders: The truth is that my main doctor is in Washington D.C., so I've not had a doctor here in Vermont, let alone a cardiologist. Riggs, a neuropsychologist married to Sanders' son Levi, had recently been diagnosed with cancer, according to her obituary. "Her last words were to tell her children how much she loved them and she was so sorry that she got sick". It also revealed that she was holding her mother's hand at the time of her passing and was being told how loved she was. "Going to see him on a regular basis to get some checkups, and obviously, I'll be on-and-off in Vermont and so we're going to meet him today". I do know that we will continue on because we have to.... we promised her we would. "She made sure the summer was filled with little trips and never wasted a day". "It is what she wanted". She also owned Riggs Geriatric Psychology in Windsor, Vt. NBC News announced it would air an "exclusive" interview with Sanders, his first since the heart attack, on Wednesday.

"I don't think I'm going to do that", said Sanders.
