We will get to know more at the launch event.

"Redmi Note series has been a true disruptor since Redmi Note launch in 2014". Instead, it comes with a few additional features such as IP52 water and dust resistance, and a dedicated microSD card slot. And I am sure these features will delight all those who were waiting for the device in the country.

Redmi Note 8 Pro will be available in three variants - 6GB 64GB, 6GB 128GB and 8GB 128GB - for ₹14,999, ₹15,999 and ₹17,999, respectively. According to the brand, the device will soon be available through local Mi Partners, but it hasn't announced the exact date.

After making their official debuts more than a month ago, the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 were also introduced in India. Unfortunately, Jio users don't get any such offer.

The smartphone flaunts a 6.5-inch Full HD+ dot notch display that offers 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution, 91.4 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Connectivity features on the device are NFC support along with 3.5mm headphone jack and Global Positioning System.

Talking on the handset's optics, the successor to the Redmi Note 7 Pro is equipped with a quad-camera setup on the back.

The Redmi Note 8 has 48MP quad camera setup at the rear.

The phone is using pixel-binning technology to capture better images in the low-light environment. It has perked up the wallpaper feature and now allows you to set "dynamic video wallpapers".

Moving on, the second camera is an 8MP ultrawide unit having an f/2.2 aperture. The camera comes with features like 25x zooming capabilities as well as the ability to record videos in 8K resolution. Xiaomi has also improved docs on MIUI 11, and added a to-do feature in the Tasks app.

Upfront we have a 6.53-inch FHD+ panel with HDR support and a notch for the 20MP selfie camera. It is the world's first smartphone to feature a MediaTek Helio G90T chipset.

MIUI Work portfolio of apps have bagged an upgrade, with the Mi File Explorer will now show you file thumbnails and lets you view them within the app itself.

Redmi Note 8 also comes in two variants - 4GB RAM with 64GB of storage is priced at 9,999 and the 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage is priced at Rs 12,999.

The Note 8 Pro runs on MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 and is scheduled to get upgraded to MIUI 11 by the end of this year. The device will be running on MIUI 10 which is based on Android 9.0 Pie.

All of this backed by a 4500mAh battery pack.

The vanilla Redmi Note 8 tries to bring Redmi Note 8 Pro-like experiences at an even more affordable pricing. The device carries over the 18W fast charging over its predecessor. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, dual-4G, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

You'd be wrong if you think those are all the features of the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
