During their quest, they encounter snarling unicorns, enough cops to staff a Blues Brothers remake and a gang of tiny biker-fairies who go from trashing a convenience store to giving chase. But this being a Pixar comedy, there naturally is a twist. If they get the spell right.

Pixar had already released a very brief teaser for Onward, yet this trailer gives us a better look at what the movie's about and it seems as though it'll be an adventure movie set in a mystical world.

So, as it turns out, Onward is about two teenage elf brothers - Holland's Ian and Pratt's Barley - who set off on an epic quest to restore their long-dead father's spirit so they can spend one last day with him.

Ian and Barley then travel the film's suburban fantasy world setting in search of way to bring the rest of their father back before the spell wears off in 24 hours.

Thanks to their roles as Spider-Man and Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Holland and Pratt were both in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, while director Dan Scanlon and producer Kori Rae teamed up for Pixar's 2013 hit Monsters University.

"Onward" releases in theaters on March 6, 2020.

Naturally, hijinks ensue. The movie is part Lord of the Rings, part Weekend at Bernie's The characters are mythological.

In this odd context, the names of Octavia Spencer and Julia Louis-Dreyfus have also been confirmed for the dubbing of these small characters with blue bodies.
