Instagram updates bring dark mode to iOS 13 and Android 10

Set your iOS or iPadOS 13 system settings to dark mode and watch To Do embrace the dark side.

If you're on iOS or iPadOS 13 you'll now see a preview card for URLs or be able to watch a video within To Do. Instagram quietly rolled out the update today giving users a fully dark user interface to match the system-wide version. Which is a bummer for millions of Android Users who are yet to, or will probably never receive Android 10. Wish there was just a simple toggle like on other apps.

Another upside is this: Instagram's Dark Mode is really really BLACK.

To enable dark mode on your iPhone, go to Settings, then Display and Brightness and select Dark. This means, if you are using the dark mode on your device, Instagram will automatically switch to the dark theme, and if you are using the Light mode on your iPhone then Instagram will also use the usual white theme that it has. Maybe Facebook will get around to introducing a dark mode on WhatsApp and Facebook next. This is flawless black, and works very well with OLED displays.

Instagram's new dark mode is available to users on iOS 13 and Android 10.

Instagram is also removing the Following Activity Tab where you could check whom your friends are following, or what they liked, commented on etc.
