Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos believes he was right to join the club on loan from Real Madrid, where he had not been enjoying his football.

Bale appeared certain to depart the Spanish capital for Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning after being ostracised by Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, before the board pulled the plug on the deal. In the previous two years I had not done so.

The defensive solidity, positional awareness, and athleticism he brings to the table make him the most important fullback on the roster, and his importance should be magnified on October 26 when Real Madrid face Barcelona's vaunted attack in El Clasico.

Ceballos has featured on 11 occasions in all competitions so far and is content with the decision he made as he was not enjoying life in Madrid. Asked if he felt any regret for not being there to help out the team, Ceballos replied: "No, no. Madrid is pretty good".

'I don't really feel sorry for not being in Madrid. "I know there are several injured players". I played 10 games where I showed my best level.

Spanish newspaper AS claims that the 30-year-old winger has had enough and wants to leave in the summer.

Ceballos' run in the Arsenal team has resulted in him being called up to the Spain squad for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Norway and Sweden.

Ceballos has fought his way back into Spain's senior national team where he's forming a partnership with Barcelona's Sergio Busquets in central midfield, playing together most recently in a 2-1 win over Romania. "Despite having a lot of experience he continues to demonstrate the ambition of a young man, that ambition makes him different from the others", he said.

Last summer Ceballos was an integral player in Spain's U-21 European Championship-winning side.
