Flu shots available starting week of October 21st

It takes a couple of weeks after vaccination for the body to build immunity, so now is the time to get vaccinated to have the best protection now the flu season has started.

A person with the flu may be contagious and infect others before they even feel sick.

The nasal mist vaccine is not available for use in Canada for the 2019-2020 influenza season.

Influenza and invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) are major causes of morbidity and mortality in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Indigenous) people.

Common symptoms of the flu, which typically develop within a few days of exposure, include fever or feeling feverish, a cough and/or sore throat, a runny or stuffy nose, chills, fatigue and body aches.

This "shortage" is not a shortage at all-rather the manufacturing companies who send out the flu shots to the smaller stores and pharmacies are experiencing shipping delays that are keeping some of the stores without stock.
