Drake Makes Rare Statement About Relationship with His Dad

Drake's father, Dennis Graham, recently sat down for an interview with Nick Cannon on Power 106.

He seems to be reacting to his dad going on Nick Cannon's Power 106.1FM morning show on October 1 and claiming that Drake made up a strained relationship with his Memphis-living dad while he was growing up with his mom in Toronto. Despite his son's lyrics to the contrary, Graham says he has always been present in his son's life and that Drake embellished their relationship to sell records. "I always been with Drake", Dennis responded. I said, Drake, why are you saying all this stuff about me? "This is not cool.' He (said), 'Dad, it sells records.' OK, well, cool".

Following his dad's comments, the In My Feelings star took to his Instagram Stories to address the remarks, admitting he's "so hurt" by the claims.

He explained, "My father will say anything to anyone that's willing to listen to him". Drake added that it was "sad" when family squabbles turn into what they are, however, "that's the people we are stuck with". And we really got into a deep conversation about that.

It's not the first time that Graham has ever said such a thing.

Drake, 32, has now responded, saying he is "so hurt" by the claims. We've got some of those reactions below. Drake has made references to his childhood in his music - specifically his dad's absence on the track "Look What You've Done". Between ages 1-5. His father wasn't in his life during his pre teen/teenage years.

Oof. Let's hope that these two will be able to work out their issues soon.
