AOC explained why she endorsed Bernie Sanders over Elizabeth Warren

Given the rise in the polls of his opponent, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, and the staggering campaign of former Vice President Joe Biden, this was the right time for Sanders to pull an ace from under his sleeve. Bernie Sanders running mate, but she does have a standing job offer in his White House if elected.

At the rally, which drew roughly 25,000 people, Ocasio-Cortez formally endorsed Sanders for commander-in-chief. In my read of the various Warren vs. Sanders spats, they're less about who is further to the left per se and more about how to achieve change, with Warren wanting to work within the Democratic Party and Sanders wanting to upend the Democratic Party and "the system" overall. The first-term NY congresswoman and national progressive phenom told CBS News she met with Warren before announcing her decision to endorse Sanders.

"You'd have to ask him", Cuomo said.

Referring to the recent heart attack of Sanders as a "gut check", Ocasio-Cortez revealed her decision to support Sen.

"Every candidate", Sanders replied.

At the rally, Ocasio-Cortez credited Sanders for being her political inspiration. But she has also been in touch with Warren this year and teamed up with the MA senator on legislative work and even a light-hearted video reviewing "Game of Thrones".

"We should all be grateful to have such strong, progressive leadership to choose from", she wrote Saturday.

At age 30, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may be too young to be Sen. "We have to come together across race, across gender, across generations".

"We need a United States that really, truly, and authentically is operated, owned, and decided by working - and all - people in the United States of America", Ocasio-Cortez proclaimed at the rally.
