Apple has unveiled the availability of its video streaming service Apple TV+ and its game subscription service Apple Arcade, during a media event held in Steve Jobs Theatre at the tech giant's campus Apple Park on Tuesday (Sept 10).

The film and TV streaming service, which promises a feast of original and exclusive Apple content, will launch in over 100 countries.

Apple has finally confirmed that its gaming subscription service, Apple Arcade, will release on September 19 and cost just $4.99 (£4/AU$7) a month.

Apple has partnered with big-name game publishers including Konami and Capcom.

When Apple TV+ lands on November 1, it will not include all of these original series. It was previously announced that the streamer would also be ad-free. But what Apple didn't say then was how much Apple TV+ would cost subscribers or the service's exact launch date.

Did you know we have a YouTube Channel?

But Apple's streaming service undercuts the price of its rivals. The CEO also revealed that customers who purchase certain Apple hardware (Cook shouted out the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV) will receive one year of Apple TV+ for free.

Apple TV+ will be met with a growing number of competitors as it looks to make a presence in the over-the-top space.

However, thanks to a strategic shift in pricing strategy, India, once an insignificant market for Apple, bounced back to "double-digit growth" in June quarter.

In April, the phone maker chose to opt for price cuts in India and brought down the price of the 64 GB iPhone XR from ₹76,900 to roughly ₹59,000.
