New Research Reveals that 'Planet X' Could be a Primordial Black Hole

They suggest that the orbit of the Sun has caught a free-floating "primordial black hole".

"When you begin interested by extra unique objects, like primordial black holes, you suppose in numerous methods", James Unwin, one of many research's authors and an assistant professor on theoretical particle physics on the College of IL at Chicago, advised Gizmodo. If it's one hole, then its size is hardly more than a bowling ball, while a mass greater than the mass of the Earth ten times. "Once you start thinking about more exotic objects, like primordial black holes, you think in different ways", one of the study's authors, James Unwin, told Gizmodo. "We advocate that rather than just looking for it in visible light, maybe look for it in gamma rays".

Scholtz and Unwin calculated that either a rogue planet or primordial black hole have the same probability of getting captured by the solar system are roughly the same.

No one has seen any primordial black holes yet but some astronomers think they could exist.

"At five Earth masses, Planet Nine is likely to be very reminiscent of a typical extrasolar super-Earth", says Batygin, an assistant professor of planetary science and Van Nuys Page Scholar at Caltech.

There's plenty of theories, including a planet - the elusive Planet Nine - or even a collection of smaller worlds or large asteroids that have grouped up.

If that's true, it's possible that the hard-to-spot object hanging out on the fringe of our solar system is one such black hole.

For the new study, researchers looked at data on the six Kuiper Belt objects' freakish orbits and also incorporated recent observations about how light traveling through the solar system appears to be bending due to an object (or objects) that scientist haven't accounted for.

Proponents of the Planet Nine hypothesis have noted that the expected location of this world, which is about 20 times as far from the Sun as Neptune on average, reports Motherboard, "is a unusual place to find a planet native to the solar system". Researchers have not been able to locate them just yet, but researchers believe they are prevalent and may play a role in the existence of dark matter.

It's widely accepted among astronomers that deep within the heart of the Milky Way galaxy lies a supermassive black hole. So the hunt for Planet Nine, they suggest, should include a search for moving sources of x-rays, gamma rays, and other types of radiation, since those clues could indicate the edges of a black hole.

In favor of the fact that this is actually not a planet, a black hole, say features iskrevlenie light passing through the area of its intended location.
