Variety is reporting that Marvel Studios has their eye on Hailee Steinfeld for Disney+'s upcoming Hawkeye series.

The famous Marvel comics featured Kate Bishop in 2005's Young Avengers No. 1 and was created by Wonder Woman screenwriter Allan Heinberg and artist Jim Cheung. Based on brief glimpses in the trailers, some fans speculated that this role might be filled by Clint's daughter in Avengers: Endgame.

Pitch Perfect 2 star Hailee Steinfeld lands aca-awesome record deal

Jeremy Renner will be returning as Hawkeye in the new series, which is due to hit the new streaming service in Fall 2021. Bishop goes on to become the next Hawkeye once Barton retires.

The series was confirmed by Marvel recently at San Diego Comic-Con. Folks have been waiting a long time to see Kate appear in the MCU, so it's exciting to finally learn that she's on the way.

Co-starring Renner, "Hawkeye" will revolve around Clint and Kate, with a presumption that the series will end with Kate being the new Hawkeye and thus could crossover in the feature films.

Are you looking forward to seeing Hailee Steinfeld star in Hawkeye as Kate Bishop on Disney+? Also in the works are series based on Marvel characters including Loki, Vision & Scarlet Witch, and Falcon and Winter Solider among others. She's also known for starring in several "Pitch Perfect" films, and in "Bumblebee", "The Edge of Seventeen", and "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse". But Bishop is also a bit goofy in her best moments, and Steinfeld is multifaceted enough as a performer to be able to bring that element to this character simultaneously.
