"Western's major project is a floating production facility off the northern coast of British Columbia created to provide Canadian gas to markets in northeast Asia", the outlet reported Wednesday.

Biden is one 18 Democratic presidential candidates who signed a pledge, crafted by various climate action advocates, "not to take contributions over $200 from oil, gas, and coal industry executives, lobbyists, and PACs and instead prioritize the health of our families, climate, and democracy over fossil fuel industry profits". He's also an executive at the investment banking firm Hildred Capital Partners.

But CNN's Anderson Cooper, who moderated the town hall, did not let Biden off the hook. It's given by a guy named Andrew Goldman.

"We know how this works: Fossil fuel millionaires drive us towards an uninhabitable future, then host fundraisers and expect the next president to take their advice on policy", said Prakash.

"Are you going to look at that fundraiser tomorrow night?" "It's off the coast of British Columbia and it's going to provide Canadian gas to parts of Northern Asia".

"He's not a fossil fuel executive, I'm told", Biden responded. That's what we look at.

With respect to the fundraising event, Joe Biden claimed that he would rethink about going to the scheduled fundraiser event held by the cofounder of a natural gas company Andrew Goldman, who was also a senior adviser for Biden when the 2020 Democratic frontrunner was in the US Senate. The SEC filings. Who are those executives? "I've kept that pledge".

The Biden campaign, however, nearly immediately tweeted about the claim on Wednesday night - pushing back against Cooper's comments.

Biden's campaign says Goldman isn't involved in Western LNG's day-to-day operations, though Goldman is featured on the company's website and touted in some of its public statements about the Canada project as "a long-term investor in the liquefied natural gas sector". "He's not on the board of the company, nor the board of the portfolio company", tweeted Biden advisor Symone Sanders. He's not involved in the day to day operation.

Biden continued that his staff told him that Goldman did not have any responsibility relating to the company.

David Turnbull, a spokesman for Oil Change US, one of the groups behind the campaign finance pledge, said Goldman's involvement with Biden "may not technically violate the No Fossil Fuel Money pledge as we have defined it". Among Democrats, Democratic-leaners and independents with no leaning, Biden is first choice of 28 percent and second choice of 18 percent.
