Waze adds YouTube Music controls for a safer dashboard

Popular Google-owned navigation app Waze has added YouTube Music to its roster of app integrations, whereas Play Music was never treated to this luxury.

Tap the music note icon to select YouTube Music as your audio app, and start enjoying your audio content directly from Waze. You'll now be able to access your chosen music app within the Waze app at a single touch. Albums, playlists and personalized mixes are also available with few taps. Waze is especially useful since the app even integrates controls for other music apps directly, so you don't have to swipe between apps or pull down the notification tray just to pause or skip tracks.

Waze continues to strive to be the only app people use while driving with the addition of YouTube Music.

Waze's YouTube Music integration will be available in the 50 markets where both services are offered, the company says, and the roll-out begins from today. First, install the YouTube Music app for Android or iOS on the handset. It already allowed you to control third-party apps like Spotify and Deezer, along with iHeartRadio and Pandora.

Originally launched last October, Waze's full-service audio player delivers music, podcasts, audiobooks, news, and more via partnerships with leading audio platforms.
