The most notables were Josh Ferguson and Bryan Anger.

Before final cuts have been made, the Texans now have Buddy Howell, Taiwan Jones and undrafted rookies Damarea Crockett and Karan Higdon.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the Bills have not announced the decision. Now, if that isn't a gift from the football gods for the Houston Texans, then what is?

The Buffalo Bills have released LeSean McCoy, the team's starting running back over the past four seasons on Saturday, according to reports. He was due a base salary of $6.2 million this season.

McCoy, 31, had spent the last four seasons with Buffalo. His dead cap figure is about $3M for this season, a negligible number that they can deal with. With the Bills choosing to roll with Devin Singletary and Frank Gore, McCoy is now a free agent.

McCoy has played 11 years in the league.

I'd suspect that the Houston Texans will draft a running back high next season as it's uncertain what the future holds for Lamar Miller in the wake of a devastating knee injury. "But for the last two years, people have been saying that". McCoy's production dipped in 2018, though, when he ran for a career-low 514 yards.

"We did look around to see if there was a right fit but we didn't find one", Beane said. He's also a solid pass-catcher so that will help with his ability to an effective contributor to this offense.

Here's to hoping - go Houston Texans!
