Severe Weather to Hit Lawrence County Tuesday

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for the region until 3 pm today. Heavy rain, strong gusts of wind and large hail are all possible.

Forecasters say a strong-to-severe line of thunderstorms will push east-southeastward into IN during the afternoon hours.

Aside the from the possibility of showers and thunderstorms, Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy and humid, with lows in the lower 70s. Torrential downpours may produce localized flash flooding.

Temperatures Wednesday will reach the mid-80s, with winds of 5 to 10 miles per hour and gusts of up to 20 miles per hour in the afternoon.

There were no reports of it crossing the bay, moving onshore or causing damage, said weather service meteorologist Fred Zeigler. The Storm Prediction Center has placed Central Iowa under a Slight Risk area for severe storms both for overnight tonight and tomorrow morning.

Metro Detroit is again on storm watch Tuesday evening.

How likely is the region to get severe weather on August 21, 2019? Friday with feature just a few isolated storms around Colorado Springs and the mountains, with dry skies and huge heat returning through the weekend.
