But United might be left with no choice but to sell Lukaku for less than their asking price because the forward's situation has now become untenable.

Manchester United hold an interest in Fernando Llorente, something which is giving Inter and Juventus reason to believe they may be able to sign Romelu Lukaku after the Premier League transfer window has closed. It remains to be seen whether the club will reduce their demands following Lukaku's decision to stay away from training.

United's players had a day off on Monday and it was reported that Lukaku was expected back on Tuesday with the rest of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad.

It appears Solskjaer has finally run out of patience with the Belgium global and would prefer Lukaku to remain at Anderlecht until his move away from Old Trafford are finalised.

"Even if United want to sell him and he wants to go to Inter Milan, surely it would suit him and United to be at Carrington doing what he is told". It is the second time in a week Lukaku has landed himself in trouble after being reprimanded last week for posting confidential training data on Twitter.

However, sources have told ESPN FC that Luke Shaw, who was bottom of the list, was among those unhappy the information had been made public prompting Solskjaer to rebuke the Belgium global.

Two years after arriving at Old Trafford in a big-money switch from Everton, the 26-year-old is hoping to move on to pastures new.
