"Marriage Story is a love story that reveals itself within the breakdown", Baumbach said in a press release.

While the bulk of the plot is right there in the title, the new narrative from Oscar-nominee Baumbach sees Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver playing a married couple whose relationship is on the rocks.

Netflix has released two teaser trailers for the upcoming Marriage Story, the new film from director Noah Baumbach. Johansson narrates the other clip, "What I Love About Charlie", where she does the same for Driver's character.

Scored to the heart-wrenching "I've Been Loving You Too Long" by Otis Redding, both trailers close on the same dour note - the couple sitting in a court room during their divorce hearing, which then switches to scenes of a tough conversation between the two.

Ultimately, though, the film is about their marriage breaking up and how that affects their family.

Lest you think Netflix is only about rom-coms as of late, Noah Baumbach's Marriage Story is here to show you what sometimes happens a few years down the line, after the grand gestures and the big damn kiss.

The fabulous Laura Dern, Alan Alda, and Ray Liotta also co-star while the music is composed and conducted by Randy Newman. He cries easily at movies. He takes all of my moods steadily and he doesn't make me feel bad about them. Nicole (Scarlett Johansson) is a very good dancer, a playful mother, someone who is good with presents (need her in my life). "She knows when to push me and when to leave me alone".

The companion trailers, "What I Love About Nicole" and "What I Love About Charlie", give the perspectives of both halves of the film's titular marriage. Noah Baumbach (the director, producer, and writer of the movie) explained why he chose to show the POV of both characters of Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver.
