As seen in the gameplay trailer from Gamescom 2019, the races in Need for Speed Heat will take place in Palm City that offers an urban landscape for you to explore and dominate.

On the heels of its reveal (and an earlier leak), today EA unveiled the first proper gameplay trailer for Need for Speed: Heat at Gamescom. However, cops will dog you for speeding and the no-doubt innumerable traffic infractions you'll commit, slowing you down. Yes, there were hints at some of the game mechanics, features, and underlying story, but we didn't know how it'd mesh together. Night time racing, street race culture, cop chases, auto damage, rep systems and vehicle customisation. Completing these races will now get you rep and heat, and will also result in the police becoming much more agressive.

During nighttime racing, players race for rep, but as their rep rises so does their heat, which attracts the police.

Additionally, players will be able to tune their cars in the garage according to their liking. You can also join in sanctioned races to earn money you can spend on cars and upgrades.

Electronic Arts also released the Need for Speed: Heat Studio Mobile App, which lets you customize your auto for the game now and import them into the game when it launches. Need for Speed Heat is set for release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on the 8th November, with EA Access members getting a Play First trial from the 5th November.
