Many say that IT Chapter Two doesn't quite live up to the high standards of the first film, but it still has some great scary moments and the cast is fantastic.

Of course, there were some critics who simply panned the film, with most of the negative reactions focusing on its massive, almost three-hour run time and frequent callbacks to Chapter One. Their initial impressions haven't been entirely positive - more than a few writers reckon the film is slapdash and awkward, particularly in its first third.

"Chris Evangelista of Slash film wrote, "#ITChapter2 has a rushed, clumsy first act & an odd lack of chemistry among the adult Losers. That's particularly true if you're a fan of Bill Hader, who critics uniformly agree steals the show as Richie, the grown-up version of the character played by Finn Wolfhard in the first film. The story takes place 27 years after the first encounter against the terrifying clown in the first film. Several members of the press were able to attend early screenings of Andy Muschietti's horror film based on Stephen King's 1986 classic novel. Bill Skarsgård returns in the seminal role of Pennywise.

If you're a big fan of horror books and films, you'll be glad to hear that you won't have to wait much longer to watch It: Chapter Two.

As MovieWeb points out, it's worth noting that despite It's success at the box office (it grossed over $700 million), the film never got a director's cut, even though there was talk of it. The first teaser, which premiered at CinemaCon, played out like a deeply unnerving short film, and the hype has only grown as its September 6 release date inches closer. Having grown up surrounded by plenty of horror movies and video games, it only made sense for Chris to combine all of these passions into one place: Dead Entertainment.
