"The good news is, just like me and everybody who loved Lizzie and has grown up with her, Lizzie's also grown up", Duff said about the revival. Though I wonder where the conflict will be if Lizzie has such a ideal life? The fun twist was that her travails were often commented on by an animated alter ego, who would frequently break the fourth wall with witty retorts.

Lizzie is all grown-up and her character now has "the flawless man who owns a fancy restaurant" and she is now "getting ready to celebrate her 30th birthday". You always know what Lizzie is thinking, and if she can't quite say it, you can be sure her animated alter ego will. "But I think that's what's going to make it really special". Hilary Duff confirmed the news during the D23 Expo event taking place in Anaheim, California this weekend.

The original Disney Channel comedy aired from 2001 to 2004 and followed 13-year-old Lizzie McGuire as she pursued her dreams of becoming popular at school. I've been trying to contain this excitement for a loooong time while this has been in the works! She is on the cusp of her 30th birthday.

Hilary Duff is bringing Lizzie McGuire back!

Under her new Disney Channel overall deal, she is set to create series and movies for Disney Channel and Disney+, starting with new "Lizzie McGuire".

Lalaine, Adam Lamberg, Jake Thomas, Halle Todd, and Robert Carradine also starred in the original series.

"Lizzie McGuire" was produced by Stan Rogow Productions and Disney Channel Original Productions, and distributed by Buena Vista Television.

"There's been some conversations", the actress told Entertainment Tonight. "I don't want to get everyone wild talking about it". "I mean, I love her so much", Duff said at the time. "If she could be important to them again at this age, I think that would be fantastic", said Duff.

"I don't think she's a mom yet", she teased.
