Hudson-Odoi has been on the sidelines since April with an Achilles injury, which he suffered in Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Burnley.

He joins fellow academy graduates Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Andreas Christensen and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the first-team squad.

For the past one month, it was reported that the Stamford Bridge landlords have been in talks with the 18-year-old winger to convince him about commiting his future to the Blues.

On Wednesday afternoon, Chelsea shared images of the winger on social media, challenging his team-mates and passing the ball during a training session. WITH Hudson-Odoi replying "Let's go", much to the delight of Chelsea's fans.

"Great to be back in training, it's another step in my recovery", Hudson-Odoi said in a video Chelsea posted on Twitter.

He said in pre-season: 'With Callum of course I want him to sign and stay here.

It is understood Lampard will be able to pick Hudson-Odoi in September. I think he knows he has a manager here who wants to work with him to improve, and that takes hard work.

Hudson-Odoi played 23 games last season for Chelsea scoring five goals and also provided five assists which caught the attention and interest of German club Bayern Munich.

Next up for the Europa League holders is a trip to face newly-promoted Norwich City in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday.

Odoi could be available for selection as Chelsea struggle in the opening stages of the Premier League.
