"The only thing that saved that little kid was his vehicle seat, honest to God", the actor continues, urging drivers to "pay attention" to the road, or an accident like this might have more serious consequences.

"I just feel great that the Lord put me right there in that spot to do what I did that's all", Trejo told CBS Los Angeles. With the help of another bystander, Monica Jackson, the pair were able to free the child from his vehicle seat and move him out of the auto and away from the wreckage.

Danny witnessed the incident happen before rushing to the scene and he and another woman worked together to free the youngster. Anyone who has ever strapped a child into a auto seat knows they're challenging to buckle and unbuckle even in the best scenarios. He said 'muscles!' We got kind of a bond. The woman and her grandson had their SUV flipped over, and with the help of Trejo and Jackson, the young boy was quickly removed from the vehicle.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said that three people involved in the vehicle accident were taken to a local hospital for injuries, but that none of them were life-threatening.

The legendary actor leapt into action after witnessing a auto accident in Los Angeles.

"I started talking, 'Wait a minute, we got to use our superpowers!'" he said. "I kept facing him away from what was going on".

Trejo also said he had no qualms about or second thoughts about his heroic act. He would go on to work with the likes of Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez and Rob Zombie. This year Trejo is featured in an upcoming horror film from Zombie and as the voice of Boots the Monkey in the latest "Dora the Explorer" movie.

When most of the authorities had left, Trejos said, he remained to take pictures with about 30 bystanders.

Danny Trejo has become a real-life hero. "But hey, don't tell the IRS".
