Kieran Trippier, Serge Aurier, Victor Wanyama, Vincent Janssen, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Josh Onomah and Marcus Edwards are the other players that can leave.

The former Burnley right-back reportedly travelled to the Spanish capital on Tuesday to undergo a medical ahead of a move worth £20 million ($25m).

Atletico Madrid have agreed a fee with Tottenham to sign England defender Kieran Trippier while Danny Rose could also be nearing an exit from the Champions League finalists.

Atletico did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the reports from Reuters.

Trippier helped Spurs to the Champions League final for the first time in their history last season, where they were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool in Atletico's Wanda Metropolitano stadium.

"I hope he will [stay]", Pochettino said when asked if he thinks Eriksen will stay at Spurs while attending the British Grand Prix.

Tottenham fans could get a sighting of their new signing Tanguy Ndombele on the trip, but more importantly, they will be just as pleased to see their two big guns remain in their shirt.

A key man in England's run to the last four of the 2018 World Cup, scoring the opening goal in the semi-final defeat to Croatia, Trippier's form dipped during the course of the 2018/19 campaign. So too at Manchester City where the club have activated the buy-back clause on the Spanish left-back Angelino to sign him from PSV Eindhoven.

Atletico have already brought in 30-year-old central defender Felipe from Porto and 21-year-old left back Renan Lodi from Athletico Paranaense.
